Effects Of Meditation On The Body
Do you think meditation is just a show off thing and it has nothing to do with a healthy state of mind and body? Well, grow up kid!!! The entire world is witnessing the benefits and effects of meditation. Even science has also agreed to the benefits as all the effects are practically and physically proved on the basis of facts. So, if you are still thinking that meditation is of no use, then just close your eyes and allow your mind to calm down.
You need to control your breathings and have to think about the positive energies flowing all around your body. You will definitely feel the below effects in your body –
The cortisol level gets lower – Cortisols are basically a type of hormone, which are released when you are stressed. So, if the level of cortisol gets lower with the practice of meditation, then it’s a very good sign, that you will not be affected by stress and depression issues. Again, if the level of cortisols is very high in a body, then there are high chances that the body will suffer through severe irritation problems.
Wave activities in the brain increases – Meditation enhances the flow of waves in the brain. At the time of meditation, brain instantly produces two types of waves named alpha waves and theta waves. The alpha waves basically enhance the idle state of mind, and ensure proper relaxation. It’s like day dreaming, even if you are literally awake. The theta waves ensure you the deepest phase of sleep, where there are no dreams to disturb you.
A state of deep relaxation – With the production of waves, the mind has already entered a phase of relaxation. Thus, the body starts to release dopamine, which directly leads to happiness. You won’t believe, the professional individuals who just practiced meditation for a month only, started to feel very light and cool. They also mentioned that, there were literally no worries in their mind.
Increase of gray matter – Basically the gray matter in the brain signifies the memory capacity and learning abilities. It is mainly located in the hippo campus inside the brain. When an individual meditates, more amount of gray matter is visible in the brain area, which efficiently enhances the mental flexibility, emotion regulation, attention, reflection and self awareness. In short, the information processing is managed in an efficient manner and with more mindful choices.
Re–structuring of brain – With meditation, the brain wipes out all the mental issues and tends to re-configure itself. Yeah, it’s very much true that the functioning of the brain is literally restored after the meditation. The theta & alpha waves are flowing, the gray matter is increasing, and the cortisols level is lowering. So, overall the brain is living a new life with positive energies.
All the above effects have been scientifically observed and proved. If you still doubt on the benefits of meditation, it is highly suggested to continue the practice of meditation for a month.
